Ok real talk, Botox or filler?

I mean if you ask me BOTH!

To help you understand why I saw that let’s break these two treatments down….

Botox - or botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin (similar to Xeomin, Dysport, Jeveau) which works to weaken and temporarily stop targeted muscles from working. Ok what does this mean? Those forehead lines that you see when you raise your brows or frown? Those would be targeted by neurotoxin. There are many other places we can use neurotoxin! Around the eyes (crows feet), around the mouth (smokers lines), at the corners of the mouth for the down turned frown, on the top lip for a pretty “lip flip”, if you have excessive gums that show when you smile neurotoxin can be used here too. SO many places, really neurotoxin is magic. Did you know neurotoxin can be used in neck bands and along the jawline to soften lines/neck bands and produce a tighter jawline. Really this stuff is magic in a bottle! Neurotoxin onsets in 3-7 days and lasts about 3-4 months.

Filler – Dermal filler is made (generally) of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that we have in our bodies. This concentrated hyaluronic acid is made into a jelly like substance and loaded into a syringe so it can be injected. Filler is used to plump, soften, lift, define, and contour the face. It adds volume which softens line and wrinkles – opposed to Neurotoxin which stop the muscles from moving. While everyone knows that filler goes into the lips many are not aware of the amazing places we can put filler that can look very natural. Nearly everyone over age 35 can benefit from in the cheeks - yes this area has a bad rap due to celebrities who have had WAY too much filler here. But believe me a little filler here can go a long way!

So if you ask me I’d say Botox and filler please! Want to learn more about what’s right for you? Schedule a free consult with M Aesthetics today!
