Neuromodulators
Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botulinum toxin. There are 4 brands on the market - Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau –all of which are used to treat wrinkles and lines.
Neuromodulators offered at M Aesthetics include Xeomin (clean “Botox”) and Dysport. Treatment areas include the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes and lower face including resting frown lines, thickened jaw muscles, neck bands and upper lip lines and more! These medications last 3-4 months. This treatment is minimally invasive and you can get back to your life right after your visit (with a few precautions).

Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances made of hyaluronic acid injected beneath the skin to increase lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, and enhance facial contours. Dermal fillers maybe used in the cheeks, temples, mid face, under eyes, chin, jawline and lips. Results are visible immediately and last 6-12 months, sometimes longer depending on the filler chosen. Did you know 1 syringe of filler is just 1 ml? About the size of a blueberry! Multiple syringes are commonly required to contour the face. Prepare for swelling or bruising for up to 2 weeks following injection of dermal fillers. Restylane, Revanesse Versa, RHA, and Radiesse are available at M Aesthetics.

Radiesse
Radiesse is a unique long lasting filler made of calcium hydroxyapatite (different than typical hyaluronic acid fillers) that works not only on lines but also enhances collagen and elastin formation. This means, tighter, brighter and less wrinkly skin. This is the treatment of choice here at M Aesthetics for neck laxity and neck lines given its longevity and multiple benefits. This can also be used as a filler in usual areas such as cheeks or jawline or diluted to Hyperdilute Radiesse for a full facial volumizing treatment. A series of 2-3 treatments is recommended, 4-6 weeks apart. The results are long lasting, up to 2 years! Not only will this tackle pesky lines and wrinkles in the neck but treats crepes skin that has lost its youth, the enhanced collagen gives your skin a healthy glow as time goes on!
**Of note – Radiesse is NOT a reversible filler dermal filler. It is also radiopaque – meaning a small amount could be seen on Xrays for up to a year.

This procedure involves a small blood draw, a few tubes of blood are then spun down to separate the blood cells from the plasma/fibrin, which can then be injected or micro needled into your face. This can be injected under the eyes, into the scalp for hair restoration, mixed in with filler for full face treatment, or used with micro needling to improve your skin texture and appearance.

FAQs
I’m new to injectables where do I start?
Start with a consult! Injectable treatments can be overwhelming when everything is new – lets chat about your goals and your options, together we will develop a plan. In office consults are ideal as you can become comfortable with myself and the space. If you prefer virtual consults are also an option.
How much does it hurt?
For neuromodulators (Xeomin and Dysport) very fine needles are used. Tools such as ice, a distraction tool can help alleviate any discomfort which is reported as minimal. Filler and SCULPTRA or Radiesse use larger needles and injections are deeper. Topical numbing cream, ice and distraction tools are also utilized to minimize discomfort. For lip filler which can be sensitive – dental blocks (small injections inside the gums) are offered to ensure you remain comfortable.
How long do neuromodulators last?
About 3-4 months. Duration is based on injection technique, dosing and patient’s individual metabolism. First treatments generally do not last as long given the muscles we are targeting are still strong. After 3-4 rounds of injections you can understand your general duration for neuromodulators.
I’ve only done BOTOX brand what are Xeomin + Dysport?
Botox, Xeomin, Dypsort and Jeaveu are all neuromodulators currently on the market in the United States. They all share the active ingredient of botulinum toxin which when injected weakens the targeted muscle, decreasing muscle activity and ultimately reducing wrinkles. Xeomin and Dysport have been FDA approved for many years and their safety and efficacy is well documented. Xeomin is a “clean” form of Botox without extra proteins – meaning it is less likely to produce tolerance over time. Dysport is known to onset fast and spread diffusely –in one study showed a duration of up to 5 months. We will discuss your goals and overall desires for your treatment and decide together which neuromodulator will be the best fit for you.
How long are the appointments?
All new patient appointments are 45 minutes. This allows us time to get to know one another, discuss your treatment options and have ample time for the procedure. The actual injections for neuromodulators take on average less than 15 minutes. Filler/Scultpra/Radiesse approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.
How long does it take to see the results?
Neuromodulators onset in 3-7 days with peak onset at 2 weeks. Filler/Radiesse results are seen immediately however swelling and possible bruising maybe present for up to 2 weeks. Sculptra injections will be mildly swollen or bruised for up to a week, then results will reveal themselves at 3-6 moths. If you are planning for an event 4 weeks prior is ideal if using neuromodulators or filler
